Strathmore wins coveted National Award of Excellence for Commissioner's Park

We are proud of each and every one of our awards - but this one really means a lotas it is awarded by our peers in the industry.

At the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association's (CNLA) 18th annual awards ceremony this winter, we won the 2021 CNLA National Award of Excellence for our work Commissioner's Park near at Rideau Canal Corridor in Ottawa.

The Rideau Canal Corridor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which receives almost one million visitors per year.

The height of the season is the Canadian Tulip Festival, which happens over 11 days in May, when huge crowds descend to see over 300,000 tulips in bloom.

Who plants those 300,000 tulip bulbs? Strathmore! And once these flowers finish, we fill the garden beds - some of the largest in Canada - with a wide array of annuals.

Because this is such high profile site, it has to be perfect each and every day. This means constant maintenance by our hard working crews, all season long.

We want to thank each and every person who helped us receive this award.

In the video below, Jessica Milligan (Vice-President of Strathmore) and Andrew Scotland (Ottawa Branch Manager) talk more about these beautiful garden's and how our team members show an incredible sense of ownership and professionalism in their work.
