At Strathmore, we’re proud of our work expanding the expectations for commercial landscaping from a cost to a strategic investment. Spread across four distinct roof sections of the Great Canadian Casino Resort, including the main casino building and hotel tower, is a great new example of non-traditional landscaping services that Strathmore provides. This is Canada’s second-largest green roof. And while Strathmore wasn’t involved in its design or installation, we are proud to serve as the trusted partner maintaining and nurturing this ambitious living system as part of a complete ESG initiative by the Casino.

Our Role: Stewarding a Complex Living System
Strathmore provides meticulous green roof care:
Daily upkeep: including hand weeding and plant health assessments
Manual watering: essential in the absence of irrigation, especially in peak summer
Barrier protection: invasive species monitoring to protect the waterproof membrane
Microclimate-specific care: adjusting practices based on sun exposure, wind patterns, and drought sensitivity
